We are seeking an experienced, dynamic, and dedicated Attorney with a focus on Workers Compensation Law to join our team. This is a 100% remote, permanent position, offering a unique opportunity to work within a dynamic legal environment from the comfort of your own home. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in labor and employment, with a specific emphasis on Workers Compensation Law, and have a proven track record as a Workers Compensation Defense Attorney. This role requires a minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities:
As a Workers Compensation Attorney, you will be responsible for:
1. Representing the interests of employers and insurance carriers throughout the state in workers compensation cases.
2. Managing a full caseload of workers’ compensation cases of varying degrees of complexity.
3. Preparing legal documents and strategies, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and appeals.
4. Conducting and defending depositions.
5. Interpreting laws, rulings, and regulations for clients and presenting findings in a clear and concise manner.
6. Negotiating settlements on behalf of clients.
7. Participating in hearings, trials, and conferences, presenting evidence to defend or prosecute in workers compensation cases.
8. Staying updated with the latest developments in Workers Compensation Law and applying this knowledge to your work.
9. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure all legal and contractual matters are addressed efficiently.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Workers Compensation Attorney role will have the following qualifications:
1. Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
2. A minimum of 5+ years of experience in Workers Compensation Law, with a specific focus on workers compensation defense.
3. Active and in good standing Bar licensure in the state of practice.
4. Demonstrated ability to manage a large caseload and multitask effectively.
5. Proficient in legal research and writing.
6. Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to resolve matters favorably.
7. Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly and effectively.
8. Proven ability to work independently in a remote setting, while maintaining a high level of productivity and meeting deadlines.
9. Strong ethical standards and integrity.
10. Proficient in the use of legal software and technology.
