Job Description
Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach - HPO- Klamath Falls, Oregon Reef Systems is seeking a strength and conditioning coach to support the 173 rd Fighter Wing.
Background :
The Contractor shall provide a strength and conditioning coach responsible for preparing the 173 rd FW fighter pilots for the physical rigors of combat aviation. The strength and conditioning coach is expected to employ a holistic approach to training that incorporates prehab,' performance training, and strength & conditioning. The strength and conditioning coach may be utilized as a complementary support role in rehabilitation, with an aggressive "return-to-fly" mindset. Daily activities may include instruction, demonstration, and application of physical training principles and technique.
Tasks :
- Develop, implement, and teach fitness skills to aircrew with varying ability levels.
- Develop, design, and implement a cohesive and comprehensive programming approach.
- Collaborate with the Athletic Traner to provide each aircrew member seeking prehab/prevention services an initial performance evaluation within one week of the request. Based on this evaluation, conduct a needs analysis to identify deficits, goals, and risk factors, and develop and implement a tailored training program that includes prehabilitation, performance training, strength and conditioning, and rehabilitation.
- Assist with management of physical conditioning supply inventories. Provide input to organization regarding supply needs and optimal equipment.
- Employ relevant technologies, including third-party fitness/nutrition apps, to support the training program and improve client performance.
- Perform administrative duties such as maintaining records of workload. May be required to document patient encounters using mandated government systems in accordance with guidance and direction
Mandatory Minimum Requirements :
- 5+ years of full-time experience as a Strength & Conditioning Specialist in collegiate (or higher), professional, or tactical athletics; aerospace industry, test pilot/astronaut or similar man-machine high-performance environment.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Human Performance, Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or a related field.
- National Strength and Conditioning (NSCA) Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) or Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Association (CSCCa) and Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC). Current (CPR) and (AED) trained.

Schedule :
The Contractor shall provide services primarily 7:00AM-4:00PM Monday through Friday and during 173rd Fighter Wing Regularly Scheduled Drills (RSDs). On scheduled night flying weeks, the standard times will fluctuate based on the flying schedule but will not be in excess of a 9-hour day. During the summer months, the night flying schedule could be as late as 3:00PM-12:00AM. At least a two-week notice will be provided if there is a required change to the standard operating hours. Non-standard hours may include Federal Holidays listed on the U.S. Office of Personnel management (OPM) website (opm.gov). No duty hours will be observed when the Government facility/installation is closed due to local or national emergencies, administrative closings, or similar Government-directed facility/installation closings.
