We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Clinical Research Assistant to join our team! The Clinical Research Assistant will provide support for the Principal Investigator(s) and Clinical Research Coordinator(s) to streamline clinical trial conduct to provide quality data and patient care.

Essential Functions of the Role:

  • Completes accurate and complete data entry into case report forms or pre-established computer programmed formats ensuring appropriate source documentation.
  • Transfer data from paper formats via computer, recorders, or scanners
  • Screens patient records, EMR, and physician referral summaries for identification of prospective candidates for research protocols.
  • Assists with patient recruitment.
  • Coordinates the collection of data according to the research protocol, operations manual, and case report form guidelines within the budgetary guidelines established by Manager of Clinical Trial Operations and Principal Investigator.
  • Draws, prepares, and ships laboratory samples for clinical trials
  • Performs EKGs and other procedures as directed by study protocol and delegated by Principal Investigator.
  • Filing various paperwork
  • Organize spreadsheets with large numbers.
  • Maintains and updates site demographics on computer database; logs forms received and files as appropriate; prepares reports from database to include weekly reports and other reports as requested
  • Communicates and coordinates with other study personnel as required to include data entry and randomization of personnel, pharmacy, laboratories, study sponsors and others as needed for study implementation and routine problem resolution.
  • Attends routine meetings and other meetings related to the clinical research; stays abreast of information and any changes to study protocol.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Prior clinical research experience is preferred
  • Medical Assistant preferred. Medical terminology is a plus.
  • Computer knowledge required, electronic medical records (EMR) highly preferred.
  • Administrative skills, especially the ability to precisely record important data.
  • Must have excellent customer service skills.
  • Attentiveness to detail and keen observation
  • The capacity to manage and coordinate several stakeholders
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be self-motived individual.
  • Strong inter-personal skills.
  • Able to work independently with minimal guidance and as part of a team.

Work Environment

This position and will report to the office Monday- Friday from 6:30 am – 5:00 PM or any designated hours to support business need.

Physical Requirements

This position requires full range of body motion. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, walk, and stand; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to handle or operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 25 pounds.
