Job Description
Position Summary: Responsible for performing repetitive and routine custodial duties inside and outside Four Winds Travel Center to ensure facility is clean and sanitized for customers and staff. May provide cashier assistance or serve in a backup role, as needed.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: - Routinely empty trash/recyclables throughout the facility and properly dispose for collection
- Using established practices and procedures clean restrooms, sweep and mop floors, and clean windows and doors throughout the facility
- Maintain cleanliness and supplies at fuel island including dispensers and underground sumps
- Ensure parking lot is routinely checked and free of trash and cigarette butts
- Routinely checks cleanliness of fountain, coffee, and deli areas to ensure functionality of equipment and clean area for customers
- Clean, dust, and wipe furniture, fixtures, shelves and product; as needed
- Replace light bulbs and refill dispensers as needed
- Work to unclogs lavatories and alert management when repairs are needed
- Perform cleaning and related activities due to impacts of weather including snow removal, salting of sidewalks, and mopping up leaks due to rain.
- Adjusts heating, lighting, sound systems, and water valves in buildings as requested.
- Routinely walks through interior and exterior of building noting and informing management of problem areas and/or repairs needed
- Assists in moving of furniture, equipment, merchandise, etc.
- Observes safety rules and maintains a safe environment
- Contributes to a team effort and accomplishes related results as required.
- Performs other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED, 6 months relevant experience preferred. Must be able to obtain alcohol certification with two weeks of hire. Must be able to obtain Underground Storage Tank Certification Class C within 30-days of hire. Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen and background investigation. Native American preference will be given.
Knowledge, Abilities, Skills, and Certifications: - Working knowledge of proper cleaning methods, occupational hazards, and practices for a safe work environment.
- Knowledge of safe working practices and steps to protect others while preforming the duties of the position.
- Ability to follow written and verbal directions to complete routine and repetitive tasks
- Ability to safely use cleaning products and operate equipment/hand tools with care while following safety instructions and guidelines
- Ability to communicate effectively in the English language both verbally and in writing
- Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds and with co-workers at all levels.
- Ability and willingness to learn methods of cleaning and caring for specialty equipment
- Ability to work as a team member in a structured working environment
- Ability to work with timeliness and thoroughness.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly is required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle and feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee occasionally is required to sit; climb or balance; and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment: Work is performed both indoors and outdoors. Exposure to fumes or airborne particles may occur, and the incumbent is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. Evening, weekend, and/or holiday work may be required. Indian Pueblo Cultural Center
