POSITION TYPE: Year-round, hourly plus benefits
PAY RATE: $18-$22/hour plus commission

SUPERVISED BY : Senior Sales Manager
POSITION SUMMARY: Full-time year-round strategic member of the group sales team will focus on proactive contact with market segments to drive sales in accordance with the projected yearly sales forecast. Strong prospecting skills to include networking, cold calling, social networking, and email to cultivate new business and maintain current partnerships. Ability to write captivating proposals and contracts for new and repeat clients. Respond to all incoming leads in a timely fashion and meet or exceed outbound call expectations. Maintain current sales database, prepare, and reconcile all sales contracts. Collaboration with all internal departments to consistently deliver outstanding results to clients. Conduct site tours and FAM trips. Assist with group fulfillment, including hosting groups, ticket preparation and group oversight. Specific territories and market segments subject to final hiring decision and subject to change over time.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Direct sales to contacts with awareness of market changes and demographics. Creative ability to market Schweitzer as a year-round top resort destination for large and small groups. Leverage current customer relationships to generate referrals. Must be able to prospect and cold call on potential clients. Approximately 20% travel within marketplace, 80% office time at Schweitzer. Must have excellent public speaking ability and be able to entertain and host groups. Required to complete sales report logs and travel expense forms on weekly basis.
Must have own vehicle and be able to travel for up to 5 day stretches on occasion. Balance of travel is day-trip oriented for sales calls. Use of Schweitzer vehicle when available, personal vehicle if necessary.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES : Must have extensive knowledge of and display a passion for Schweitzer Mountain Resort facilities and events. Responsibilities are listed as guidelines and the position is not necessarily limited to these items.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS: SKILLS: Energetic self-starter, strong sales drive, team-oriented and positive outlook, impeccable customer service, time management, public speaking, writing, and mathematical aptitude. Must be able to meet reoccurring deadlines and handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
. English reading, writing, communication and math. Typing 40 wpm accurately, clerical skills, computer skills (prefer Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet, and Contact management/database experience) Skiing and/or snowboarding skills recommended.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum 3 years leisure/hospitality sales experience preferred
LICENSE NEEDED: Valid driver's license insurable under Schweitzer Mountain Resort and US Passport.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Will stand/walk for up to 10 hours per day. Will lift 10lbs frequently and up to 60lbs occasionally. May have to bend, squat, kneel, twist, and reach above shoulder level occasionally. Will use hands to grasp a complete fine manipulation skill. Will use foot controls occasionally. Must have all sensory skills except taste. Worksite is 80% inside and 20% outside. Will be exposed to all temperature and moisture conditions.
MACHINES/TOOLS OPERATED: Automobile, PC, printer, copy machine, fax, and assorted office equipment.
