Junior Wireless Network Engineer

Oakbrook Terrance, IL (Hybrid)

12-month contract to hire

As a Junior Wireless Network Engineer, you will be given the to support our clients wireless network communication devices. You will assist with updating and troubleshooting devices and assist with projects in preparation of new deices across the Greater Chicago area. You would work under the guidance of Senior Engineer and be trained on wireless network technologies.

Qualifications:

• 0-3 yrs. of experience with networking protocols, Network/Electrical Engineering, or troubleshooting with Cisco/Nokia technologies, or ITRON technologies
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Network Engineering, Computer Engineering (or similar field) or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge or hands-on experience of wireless technologies
• Knowledge of fundamental network concepts like TCP/IP, and FTP
• Familiarity with ITRON is a plus!
• Excellent analytical, conceptual, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Must be willing to work independently and as part of a team.
• Participate in rotating on-call and queue monitoring schedules in a 24/7/365 environment

Responsibilities:

• Support the administration and troubleshooting of network related problems.
• Ensures that procedures are implemented and enforced for all wireless devices.
• Install, configure, manage, and maintain security of all wireless ITRON devices to established standards and best practices
• Execute network implementation activities for multiple short- and long-term projects while adhering to all project management standards.
• Ensures that long-term requirements of systems operations and administration are included in the overall systems planning of the organization.
• Provides technical support in the integration and test of complex large-scale integrated networks.
