*Hiring for Late July/ early August Opening* About Puerta Puerta brings Mexican cuisine paired with the freshest ingredients and classic techniques. Our exceptional culinary team is built from a wide variety of culinary experience and knowledge that focuses on unique flavor, nostalgia and approachability. We source many ingredients from Mexico including spirits. Mezcal and tequila will be the focal point in Puerta's bar program. Whether it is a fresh juiced Margaritas or a pour of Mezcal that you may have never heard of, you can find it here. Late night lounging with a Dj driven atmosphere, or a night out before the night out, we hope that you will join us to experience all that is Puerta.
Primary responsibilities of server/bartender: - Providing the guest with a world-class experience
- Preparing and serving food, cocktails, beer, and wine
- Guiding guests through a timely and seamless dining experience
- Optimizing guest experience while showcasing the ability to work within a high volume environment
- Accessing guest needs and preferences and then making the proper recommendations
- Providing hospitality-driven customer service
Server/Bartender Description: Puerta is looking for experienced servers/bartenders to build our opening team of 1957 Hospitality's newest restaurant concept. The ideal teammate will possess engaging people skills, a calm demeanor, and a love for the service industry. Our team will exemplify passion, a great attitude, and the will to learn/grow. A great candidate for this position is an individual that is detail-oriented and exemplifies teamwork, communication, execution of steps of service promptly, and cleanliness. A great server/bartender will also possess a positive can-do attitude that is not afraid to solve problems or be a team player, operate seamlessly with fellow team members to provide our guests with exceptional service. We expect nothing but greatness from our servers/bartenders and in return will provide an unparalleled work environment that is fun, supportive and promotes growth and creativity.
Responsibilities for server/bartender: - Completes daily Bar Prep List, Syrups, Fresh Juices, etc.
- Follows Opening & Closing Side Work Checklists setting each shift for success and when closing has a "leave no trace" mentality.
- Maintains and cleans all bar equipment each shift
- Quarterly Restaurant Cleans.
- Completes all assigned Running Side Work including Sanitizing and Polishing Glassware
- Creates Bar Prep List for the following day at the end of each shift
- Has a complete understanding of all Food & Beverage Menu offerings and ability to provide recommendations based on the guests likes and dislikes
- Verifying the legal age to consume alcoholic beverages for every guest
- Handling cash/credit card transactions
- Barbacking duties: washing glassware, refilling juices/syrups, restocking beer/wine, bussing tables/resetting tables, maintaining clean bar top
- Running food and beverage
Server/Bartender Requirements: - Multitask between guest experience and service
- Able to lift 50lbs
- Must be skilled in serving high volume
- Must be skilled in excellent communication and teamwork
- Must be skilled in various bartending techniques
- Must showcase the ability to stay calm under pressure
- Must showcase excellent organizational skills
- Must showcase the ability to keep the workspace clean and tidy
- Must showcase impeccable social awareness and customer service
- Must know and implement sanitation procedures
- Must be able to maintain a well-kept uniform
